Delete a circuit
Deleting a circuit is permanent, so export anything worth keeping first. You can delete one at a time or several at once.

Deletion cannot be undone. There is no trash, no restore, and no recovery path once the confirmation goes through, so export anything you might want later before you start.
From a circuit list
Open My circuits, find the circuit, and choose Delete from the row or tile overflow menu.
A confirmation dialog headed Delete circuit appears:
Are you sure you want to delete "{name}"? This action cannot be undone.
The confirm button is Delete, and it reads Deleting… while the request runs. Success shows Circuit deleted successfully.
From the editor
Open the circuit, turn on the Properties panel, and open the Danger Zone section at the bottom. It holds Delete circuit with the subtext Deleting a circuit is permanent and cannot be undone. The same confirmation dialog follows.
Deleting several at once
Switch a circuit list to list view and select the rows you want. The delete control is disabled until you select something, with the tooltip Select circuit(s) to delete, and once you have a selection it reads Delete {n} selected circuits. A counter shows how many are selected. The result is a single toast, Deleted {n} circuits.
Export before you delete
Two exports are worth taking first.
- The circuit file. In Properties, then Advanced, then Circuit Actions, Export circuit downloads a .csim file with the tooltip Download this circuit as a .csim file. Importing that file later rebuilds the circuit. Bulk export from a list view works the same way for several circuits at once.
- The schematic image. PNG or PDF from the schematic toolbar, covered in export-a-schematic-image.
An unsaved circuit cannot be exported. The tooltip reads Save the circuit before exporting until you save.
When delete is refused
Delete is owner only, plus contributors on group shared circuits. The messages you may see:
- Only the circuit owner can delete this circuit. in the Danger Zone, when the circuit belongs to someone else.
- You need contributor access to delete this circuit as a list tooltip.
- You do not have permission to delete this circuit. as a toast when the request is rejected.
- Save the circuit before attempting to delete it. on a circuit that was never saved. Navigating away discards an unsaved circuit anyway.
- Failed to delete circuit for a request that did not complete. Try again.
What deletion affects
Deleting frees a slot against your plan's circuit limit, which is 5 on Basic, 10 on Standard, and unlimited on Premium.
If the circuit was shared with a group, members lose access to it along with the deletion, since a group share points at your original rather than at a copy.
Copies are independent. Anyone who copied your circuit keeps their copy, and deleting yours does not touch theirs. The same applies in reverse, so a circuit you copied stays yours after the original is gone.
Deleting a public circuit takes its public page down with it, and links to that page stop resolving.
