I cannot sign in
Unverified email, a password on an account that never had one, and a blocked security check are the three usual causes.

Getting stuck at the log in page is almost always one of three things: your email address has not been verified yet, the account was created with Google or GitHub and has no password, or the security check on the form could not load.
The messages you may see
Please verify your email before signing in. Open the link in your confirmation email, resend it below, or enter your code on the verification page.
Password must be at least 6 characters!
Security verification could not load. Disable content blocking for this site or refresh the page.
This browser cannot complete security verification. Update your browser or try another supported browser.
Authentication error
Your email is not verified yet
When the page shows the verification message, everything you need is on the same screen. A Resend confirmation email button sends a new one, then counts down for sixty seconds before it can be used again. A link labeled Enter verification code instead takes you to the page where you can type the six digit code from the email.
If the email never turns up, see The verification email never arrived.
The account has no password
Signing up with Google or GitHub creates an account without a password. Typing your email address and a guess into the password form returns a credentials error rather than a hint, so it is worth checking. Use the Google or GitHub button at the top of the log in page instead, with the same email address you signed up with.
If you would rather use a password on that account, run the password reset flow. It sets one.
The security check will not load
The log in form runs a bot check before it submits. Ad blockers and strict privacy extensions block it, which produces the loading errors above and a Reload page button. Turn off content blocking for CircuitSim, or open the page in a window without extensions, then sign in.
You forgot the password
Use Forgot password? on the log in page. You get an email with a code and a link, then a page to set the new one. Two details matter:
- Open the reset link in the same browser that requested it. A different browser has no recovery session, and the update page fails with Password update timed out waiting for an authenticated session. Please open the reset link again or try signing in.
- The new password field asks for 8 or more characters.
If the page shows an authentication error
The Authentication error page appears when the sign in round trip did not complete, usually after an interrupted redirect back from Google or GitHub. Press Try again, which returns you to the log in page. If it repeats, clear cookies for the site and start over. See Error pages and what they mean for the other pages you may land on.
If none of that worked
Confirm you are using the address you signed up with, including any plus addressing. Then open the chat in the bottom right corner with the email address in hand, and support can check the state of the account.
