I lost my work
CircuitSim saves only when you ask it to. Here is where a circuit can still be, and how to stop losing one again.

Closing a tab with unsaved changes loses them. CircuitSim does not save on a timer, and there is no recovered draft waiting when you come back, so the first question is whether the circuit was ever saved at all.
Check these places first
My circuits in the left navigation lists everything you own, most recently edited first. Sort by last modified and look at the top of the list. Search by name if you remember it, and clear any tag filter that may be hiding it.
If the list looks short, confirm which account you are signed in as. A circuit made while signed in with Google lives on that account, not on an email password account with the same address.
A circuit shared with a group appears under that group rather than in your own list, and one you opened from someone else's link was never yours to begin with unless you saved a copy.
If the tab closed with unsaved changes
Those changes are gone. Nothing is held in the background, and reopening the circuit loads the last version that was saved. Rebuilding from the last save is the only route.
The editor warns you when it can. Navigating away inside the app brings up a dialog headed Unsaved changes:
This circuit has unsaved changes. If you leave this page, those changes will be lost. Do you want to continue?
Closing the browser tab outright does not always give you that dialog, which is why the habit of pressing Ctrl+S matters more here than in tools that autosave.
If someone else saved over your version
Circuits shared with a group can be open in two places at once. Saving on top of another person's change brings up Circuit changed since you opened it, offering Discard your changes and load theirs, Overwrite, and Save as a copy. If someone chose Overwrite while you had the circuit open, the version on the server is theirs. Ask them to send a copy, or use Save as a copy next time to keep both.
If you deleted it
Deletion is permanent. The confirmation dialog says so before it happens, and there is no trash to restore from. Ask a group member who has a copy, or check whether you exported the circuit earlier as a .csim file, which can be imported again from the circuits list.
If it was never named
A circuit created and left unnamed stays a draft. Drafts are removed after twenty four hours, so an unnamed circuit from yesterday will no longer be there. Name a circuit as soon as you start on it: click the title at the top left of the editor.
Making this harder to repeat
- Press Ctrl+S after any change worth keeping. The save button tooltip reads No changes to save when everything is stored.
- Name new circuits immediately rather than at the end.
- Export finished work from Circuit Properties then Advanced then Export circuit, which downloads a .csim file you keep.
If a circuit you are certain you saved is missing from My circuits, open the chat in the bottom right corner with its name and roughly when you last saved it.
