Much of CircuitSim is open to anyone who arrives at the site. An account is what lets you keep and share what you build.
Without signing in
You can browse Public circuits and open any of them to see the schematic, the components used, and the netlist. You can search the component library from the home page and read the detail page for any official part, including its parameters and pins.
The forum and the idea space are readable without an account, and both are indexed by search engines, so questions and answers there are findable from outside CircuitSim.
What an account adds
- Saving circuits, and finding them again under My circuits
- Building custom components and keeping a library of them
- Making a circuit public so other people can open and copy it
- Copying someone else's public circuit to build on it
- Posting in the forum, submitting an idea, and voting
- Joining a group or a class
Everything on the free Basic plan stays free. There is no trial period, and signing up does not require a card.
Opening a public circuit you found
Clicking Copy & edit on a public circuit page sends you to the log in screen first, and returns you to that circuit once you are signed in. The copy lands in your own My circuits list, so the original is untouched and you can change anything you like.
