Change your password
Set a new password from Account, then Security. The form asks for the new password twice and never asks for the old one.

The Security tab is where you set a new password while you are signed in. Open Account, then Security, and use the Change Password panel at the top.
Setting a new password
- Type the new password into New password. The helper text under the field reads Password must be at least 8 characters.
- Type the same thing into Confirm new password.
- Press Save.
Each field has an eye icon at the end that reveals what you typed, which is worth using before you save so a stray character does not lock you out later.
A successful change shows a Password updated. toast. Your current session stays signed in, so there is nothing else to do.
The form does not ask for your old password
Because you are already signed in, CircuitSim takes that as proof of identity and skips the current-password field.
The practical consequence is that anyone who reaches a signed-in CircuitSim session on your machine can change the password. Sign out when you step away from a shared or public computer.
Messages you might see
New password is required! and Confirm password is required! mean one of the two fields is empty.
Passwords do not match! means the two fields differ. Reveal both with the eye icons and compare them.
Password update failed. Please try again and contact support if the problem persists. is the general failure. Try once more first, since a dropped connection produces the same message. If it repeats, open the chat in the bottom-right corner with the exact wording of the message.
Choosing a password
Length does more for a password than punctuation does. Four unrelated words are harder to guess than a short word with letters swapped for numbers, and they are easier to type on a phone.
Use a password you do not use anywhere else. CircuitSim circuits are often tied to coursework and group libraries, and a reused password puts those in reach of whoever breaches the other site.
If you cannot sign in at all
The Security tab only opens for a signed-in account. When you cannot remember the current password, use the Forgot password? link on the log in page instead. See Reset a forgotten password.
