Delete your account
How the Danger Zone on the Security tab works, what typing delete confirms, and what to settle before you press the button.

Deleting your account removes it along with every circuit on it and the personal data attached to it. The controls are at the bottom of Account, then Security, in a red-bordered panel headed Danger Zone.
Before you start
Save copies of any circuits you want to keep. Deletion is final and support cannot restore an account afterward.
Cancel a paid plan first, from the Billing tab. Deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription, so a plan left running keeps billing after the account is gone.
If circuits of yours are shared with a class or team, hand them over or copy them to another member while you still have access.
Deleting
The panel describes what it does: Delete your account including all circuits, and all personal data.
- Press Delete account.
- A dialog headed Delete Account opens with a red alert: This action cannot be undone. This will permanently delete your account and remove all associated data.
- Under the instruction Please type delete to confirm:, type delete into the field. Its placeholder reads Type 'delete' to confirm.
- Press Delete account in the dialog. Cancel closes it and changes nothing.
If the button does nothing
The confirmation has to be the lowercase word delete on its own. Anything else leaves the button inert with no message explaining why.
The near misses that catch people out are Delete with a capital letter, because a phone keyboard capitalized the first letter for you, quotation marks copied from the placeholder text, and a trailing space picked up from a paste. Clear the field and type the six letters by hand.
After it goes through
CircuitSim signs you out, clears the CircuitSim data your browser was holding, and returns you to the home page. There is no confirmation email and no grace period.
A Failed to delete account toast means the deletion did not run. Your account is intact. Try again, and if it fails a second time, open the chat in the bottom-right corner.

Signing out and leaving the account alone costs nothing on the free plan, and everything is where you left it when you come back.
