Make your forum profile public or private
One toggle under Preferences controls who can open your forum activity profile, including your contribution counts and badges.

One toggle decides who can open your forum activity profile. Go to Account, then Preferences, and look under Forum for Make my forum profile public.
The helper text under it states the effect: When disabled, only moderators and you can view your forum activity profile.
The toggle saves as soon as you flip it, and a Forum profile preference saved toast confirms it.
What the profile page shows
Your forum profile lives at circuitsim.com/forum/users/ followed by the slug from your Profile tab, and it is headed with your display name followed by (Forum Activity).
Three stat cards sit at the top: Total Contributions, Posts, and Replies. Below them is a list of your forum activity.
Badges appear on the profile once you earn them:

Staff and admin accounts also carry a Moderator chip next to their name.
What other members see when the toggle is off
Anyone other than you and the moderators who opens your profile address gets Forum user profile not found. rather than the page. The stat cards, the activity list, and your badges go with it.
Your posts stay where they are
The toggle covers the profile page. Posts and replies you have already written stay in their threads, with your display name attached, and remain readable to anyone browsing the forum, including signed-out visitors.
Turning the toggle off makes it harder to assemble a picture of everything you have written across the forum. Removing individual posts is a separate action you take on the posts themselves.
Choosing a setting
Leave it on if you want your work to be findable, such as when you point students, colleagues, or an employer at what you have answered. The badges and contribution counts only carry weight when somebody can see them.
Turn it off if you would rather answer questions without your history being browsable in one place. Moderators keep access either way, which is how they handle reports and spam.
Changing the profile address
The address comes from Slug on the Profile tab. Changing the slug moves your forum profile to the new address and leaves the old one pointing nowhere, so update any link you have shared. See Edit your profile.
