Buy a license and assign seats
How seat licensing works, what the purchase form asks for, and how to hand seats out.

Last Update a month ago
A license group buys a block of seats for a fixed term. Anyone holding a seat gets the group's plan tier for as long as the term runs, whatever plan they were on before. Licenses do not renew on their own, so nothing charges you again without you asking.
Buying
Start from Groups, then New group, and pick Educational License Group or Professional License Group. To license a group that already exists, open Settings and use Upgrade to License Group.
The form asks for:
- Group name and an optional description.
- Tier, either Standard or Premium.
- Seats, from 2 to 1,000.
- License term, a start date and an end date. The minimum term is 7 days and the maximum is 1,092 days. A start date up to 12 months out is allowed, and seats can be assigned before access begins.
- Payment, either by card, by invoice on NET-30 terms, or a free quote emailed to you as a PDF.
- Your school or organization name, and optionally a PO number and tax ID.
The order summary on the right shows the weekly rate per seat, the seat count, any discounts, and the total. A term of 364 days or more earns the yearly discount, and larger seat counts earn a volume discount. The form tells you when you are close to the yearly threshold.
Choosing Receive an invoice (NET-30) or Get a free quote asks for billing contact details and an address. Access begins after our staff approve the invoice, or on your start date, whichever is later. Purchase orders and W-9 requests are welcome. Ask us at [email protected] if your finance office needs something specific.
Assigning seats to people
On a license group the Members tab gains a Seat column and a counter showing how many of your seats are in use. Owners and admins click Assign on a member's row to give them a seat, and click again to take it back. The chip greys out when every seat is spoken for.
You can also hand out seats as people join. See the Automatically assign a license seat switch in Invite people to your group.
Adding seats or more time
License & Billing shows the tier, how many seats are assigned, the term dates, and the time remaining. Add seats / extend term opens a dialog where you can add seats, add weeks, or both, with the amount due shown before you pay. Owners of a Standard license also get Upgrade to Premium, which takes effect immediately and is prorated.
Invoices and receipts are listed on the same page with links to pay or download a PDF.
When a license ends
The term dates and the time remaining are on License & Billing. Check them before the end of term, because CircuitSim does not send a reminder. When the term ends, seats stop applying and everyone returns to their own plan. Circuits are not deleted. If you are running a course, set the end date a week or two past the last class so nobody loses access mid-project.
Declining a seat
Anyone holding a seat can give it back from Account, then Billing, under Group licenses. Their highest active tier applies automatically, so someone already paying for Premium loses nothing by holding a Standard seat.
