What a group is, and which kind to pick
A group gives a class, a team, or a club one place for circuits, discussion, and announcements. There are three kinds: one free, two licensed.

A group collects people and their work in one place. Members share circuits and components into the group, talk in a group forum, and read announcements from whoever runs it. Everything shared with the group stays owned by the person who made it.
Where groups live
Groups in the left navigation opens the public directory. My groups lists the groups you belong to, along with any invitations waiting for you. New group starts the creation flow.
CircuitSim is in open beta. The first time you open a group page you may see an Open Beta Terms window. Choose Agree to continue. The public directory at Groups does not ask for this.
The three kinds
Group is free. Members share circuits, discuss in a group forum, and keep whatever plan they already have. No license seats are included, so a free group does not change anyone's plan.
Educational License Group is paid and made for schools. You buy a block of seats for a fixed term and hand them out, either to named students by email or through private seats that need no email address and no account at all.
Professional License Group is paid and made for companies and clubs. Same seat model, one invoice for everyone, and volume discounts at larger seat counts.
Starting free and upgrading later
A free group can become a license group at any time. The name, members, shared circuits, and discussion all stay where they are, so nothing is lost by starting free and buying seats once you know how many you need. Only the group owner can do this, from Settings.
What groups do not do yet
Groups do not hand out assignments, grade work, or connect to a learning management system. A seat gives someone the group's plan tier and a shared place to keep circuits. If you need graded coursework today, keep that in your LMS and use CircuitSim for the circuit work itself.
Next: Create a group.
Still stuck?
CircuitSim is built by a small team and we are happy to help. Email [email protected] and tell us what you were doing and the name of the circuit or group involved. If you are talking to the chat assistant, leave your email address in the chat and one of us will reply.
