Share circuits and components with a group

Two ways in, one place to find them, and who is allowed to edit what.

Sharing puts a circuit in front of the group without giving away ownership. You still own the circuit, it still lives in My circuits, and pulling it back out of the group takes one click.
From the group
Open the group's Circuits tab and choose Share a circuit. A picker opens listing everything you own, with a search box and sorting by recently modified, newest, or name. Tick as many as you like and choose Share. The Components tab works the same way for components you have built.
From the circuit editor
Open the circuit, then find the Groups section in the properties panel. Add a group and pick what members can do with it:
  • View and interact. Members can open the circuit and run it, but their changes are not saved back to your copy.
  • Modify and save. Members can edit the circuit and save over it.
The editor is the only place the permission can be set. Sharing from the group's Circuits tab always uses View and interact, so if you want a group to be able to edit something, share it from the editor or change the permission there afterwards.
Save the circuit before you try to share it. A circuit that has never been saved cannot be shared with a group.
Finding shared work
The Circuits tab lists everything shared with the group. All and Mine filter the list, and there is a search box, sorting, and a switch between tiles and a table. Choosing Open on any row opens it in the editor.
Taking something back, and hiding things
Anyone can remove their own share. Admins and owners can remove anyone's. Admins and owners also have an eye icon that hides a shared item from members without deleting the share, which is useful for staging a set of circuits before a class.
Under Settings, the Shared content defaults option decides whether new shares are visible to members straight away or hidden until an admin unhides them. Changing it asks whether to apply the change to existing shares as well.
Highlights
The group's Overview tab has a Highlights rail where admins can pin a handful of circuits or components to the top of the group. Items have to be shared with the group before they can be highlighted.
