Who can see the group, who can join it, and the one destructive action an owner has.

The Settings tab is open to owners and admins. Members do not see it.
Name and description
The group name and description can be changed here at any time. The web address CircuitSim generated when the group was created stays as it is.
Visibility
  • Public. Listed in the public directory at Groups.
  • Unlisted. Reachable by link, not listed.
  • Private. Members only.
Sharing at least one circuit with a public group is what allows search engines to index the group page. The group appears in the CircuitSim directory either way, so an empty public group is visible inside CircuitSim but stays out of Google.
Joining
  • Invite only. People join through an invitation you send. This is how every new group starts.
  • Open. Anyone who can see the group joins with one click.
Visibility and joining work together. An open private group is a contradiction that nobody can act on, since a person who cannot see the group cannot join it. Open plus public is the setting for a club that wants members to arrive on their own.
Shared content defaults
This decides whether circuits and components shared with the group are visible to members immediately or hidden until an admin unhides them. Changing it asks whether to apply the new default to things already shared.
Upgrading to a license group
Owners of a free group see an Upgrade to License Group card here. It keeps the group's name, members, circuits, and discussion, and adds bulk seats. See Buy a license and assign seats.
Archiving
The Danger zone card, owner only, holds Archive group. Archiving removes the group from the directory and hides it from members. You have to type the group's name to confirm, and every other member is emailed and notified in the app that you archived it, with your email address so they can ask you about it.
Circuits stay owned by the people who made them, so nobody loses their work. Treat archiving as permanent: CircuitSim staff can restore an archived group, but you cannot do it yourself.
There is no delete button for a group.
